ACHF Indigenous Data Governance in the Arts Survey

NEWS     12 AUG, 2026     NICOLE HURREN

Are you an Indigenous researcher, arts practitioner or arts organisation employee?

Australian Creative Histories & Futures (ACHF) has launched a new survey investigating Indigenous data governance in the Australian arts sector.

Led by ACHF Indigenous Research Fellow, Neenah Gray, the survey is seeking to understand the types of Indigenous data arts organisations hold, how they care for it and what policies or practices guide their work. The goal is to build a clearer picture of current approaches and help inform better, more culturally appropriate practices in the future.

ACHF invites responses from individuals and organisations who work with Indigenous data. We would value your perspective and experiences if you are an:

  • Indigenous arts organisation employee

  • Indigenous researcher

  • Indigenous arts practitioner

  • Government employee

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes and responses are completely confidential.

Closing date: Friday, 2 October 2026.
