Research Data Specialist | Creative Australia

Aayush, tell us about your recent projects?

One of the projects I've been fortunate to be a part of, is the data work for State of Culture. My role has involved understanding the journey of data and exploring ways to make data easier to manage and re-use.

I have also been supporting ACHF’s Indigenous Data Governance survey. It has been a fantastic learning experience, introducing me to a new perspective and way of thinking.

Alongside this, I’ve been contributing to ACHF sprint work, where we’ve been taking steps towards making Creative Australia’s data more FAIR. For grants data, this means exploring how it can be structured in a way that makes it easier to connect and use across different systems and contexts. For research data, we’re looking at how datasets can be better described, published and discovered, so they’re easier to find, access and reuse.

What excites you about the next phase of the project?

What excites me most is seeing ideas move from discussions into something tangible. After spending time exploring concepts and possibilities, it's rewarding to start seeing those ideas take shape through practical work and prototypes.

More broadly, I'm excited by what becomes possible when data can be connected across systems and organisations. When information is more discoverable and reusable, it creates opportunities to tell richer stories

I've really enjoyed being part of a collaborative environment where people are willing to share knowledge, challenge ideas and learn from one another. That's been one of the most rewarding aspects of the journey so far.
